Overview

CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification has been the global benchmark for management accountants and financial professionals. The CMA is IMA's advanced professional certification for Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business, specifically designed to measure critical accounting and financial management skills. This is especially relevant for success in a business environment.

IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) is one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession. IMA offers its members exclusive access to the CMA program. It has a network of more than 100,000+ members.

ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) is the certification affiliate of IMA. ICMA is responsible for developing, administering, and grading the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) exam; establishing the policies and procedures for the CMA program; and for ensuring the program’s overall integrity. The ICMA Board of Regents is responsible for setting policies, and the ICMA staff is responsible for operations.

Academics – Only 2 Paper’s & one Level only. Duration – Shorter duration vis a vis Indian certification where pass percentage is less than 10%, in case of US CMA pass percentage is about 50 % globally & 70% with support of course providers. Job Propsects - High paying jobs at MNCs.

An accounting background is helpful but not required. Candidates come from a variety of bachelor’s degree programs and industries, including engineering, business administration, economics, and finance.

A CMAs role is to ensure that the company' financial and overall performance are efficient so that the objectives of the companies are met. They are the people who make daily decisions within the companies for its survival and growth.

Many members choose to separate their tests Part 1 & 2 and each test might need substantial preparation time of 150-170 hours, thus one might take 12-18 months to complete the exams.

All CMA candidates have three years to pass both parts of the exam. The time will begin with the date of your entry into the CMA program. If you don’t complete the exam in three years, you will lose past scores and will need to register for the exam again.

The average pass rate is about 50% on both parts 1 and 2.

Register for the exam. You can register for Part 1 and Part 2 in any order or register for both at the same time. Prepare to complete certification requirements including submitting your education transcript and work experience (2 continous years of full time employment in the fields of management accounting or financial management). This can be done before or after passing the exam, but is required as a final step to become certified.

CMA is an international certification and is an industry integrated curriculum that tests a student at all levels of testing like. Knowledge Comprehension Application Analysis Synthesis Evaluation
